This year a lot of things have fallen in place.
6 years back when I ran my first 10k, I decided some day I will finish a full marathon. Earlier this year I did.
2 years back a friend invited me to the Bob Dylan Festival in Shillong. This year I made it to North East and enjoyed the fest.
4 years back a journalist, Scott Carney, with Wired, who I met at BlogCamp, was doing a crazy Auto Rickshaw Challenge and I wanted to do it too. A week back I was in an Auto driving it from Chennai to Mumbai.
The interesting bit is all these were not planned. I never thought I would do the Rickshaw challenge this year. I never thought I would go to North East and I most certainly never had the idea of participating at the Mumbai Marathon. All of these happened. And that is why it is more memorable.
That said I think I have found the #42 of my 43 things to do:
Chase the Legend of Che
Do the same route that Che did, during 1951, in his famous Motorcycle Diaries. Not sure when I will be able to do it, but considering how things have generally fallen into place, I am sure it will happen.

I drove an Auto Rickshaw (Tuk Tuk) from Chennai to Mumbai (via Vellore, Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Murdeshwar, Panaji, Ratnagiri, Mahad and Alibagh) during August 1st to 12th. It was one of the most fabulous experiences I have had this year and I am happy I did it.
2200 km thro' the ghats, beaches, bad roads, highways and what not, has left me with many wonderful memories.

I have been to quite a few Ultimate Frisbee tournaments in India and Sakkath Ultimate (organized by DOD Ultimate) is probably my best tournament.
In the past few years I have played Ultimate, I have been part of 4 teams. Apart from WDNN* (We don't need no <blank>), my current team, I have never been comfortable playing in a tournament. The high pressure and over expectation has always made me underperform.
After the Kodi tournament, IP and Arunesh decided that we would create a new rebel team. I joined in because I believed there was a better way to play ultimate. If yelling and shouting and calling fouls was the only way to win a tournament, we would do everything as a enw team to change that culture.
This was our first tournament as a team and we won the Spirit of the Game award and that to me is a high. We played good ultimate, maybe not competitive, but definitely good. We just have to maintain this cool culture and develop our skills and that will help us do better in future. |

I have got my Gajini hair cut. I am not sure if I like it, but it is very comfortable. I don't sweat as much as I used to, when I go for the long runs. I also don't have to mind my hair while traveling or getting out of the shower. |

I will be running the Mumbai Marathon next year (Jan 17th, 2010). I still haven't started my circuit training. So today morning when I woke up early, I told myself that I will at least finish 5 km today.
I began to run and I finished 5 km, I continued to run and I finished 10 km. I continued more. After 2 hours of constant running I had covered about 20 km. Completely inspired by the video 'why do I run?'
I do feel happy that I was able to finish a half marathon without any practice, but I guess my hips and knees are so shaky after this run, that I will have to rest for at least a week to recuperate.
